Just Mugs (justmugs.in) is a curated design brand owned and operated by Mug Factory ("Mug Factory", "we", "us", "our"), a registered business in Bengaluru, Karnataka, India. All orders placed on Just Mugs are processed, printed, packed, shipped, invoiced, and supported by Mug Factory. Just Mugs is the brand and storefront; Mug Factory is the seller of record. Payment is collected through Razorpay Software Private Limited. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal data when you visit justmugs.in, create an account, place an order, participate in contests, or otherwise use our services. This policy is published in compliance with the Information Technology Act, 2000; the Information Technology (Reasonable Security Practices and Procedures and Sensitive Personal Data or Information) Rules, 2011; the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act); the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020; and other applicable Indian law.

Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Personal information you provide: name, email, phone, shipping and billing address.
- Account and creator profile: display name, bio, PAN, and payout details for royalty payments.
- Order data: products purchased, quantities, payment status, and delivery details.
- Contest data: submissions, votes, participation metadata, and creator studio activity.
- Payment references from Razorpay (payment ID, amount, mode, status). We do not store complete card numbers, CVV, UPI PIN, or net banking credentials.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and cookies (see Cookies section).
- Communications: emails, support messages, and feedback you send us.

How we use your information
We use your data to operate Just Mugs and fulfil our obligations to you:
- Process orders, payments, production, and shipping through Mug Factory.
- Run design contests - submissions, review, shortlisting, voting, and winner announcements.
- Calculate and pay creator royalties via Razorpay Payouts or equivalent.
- Send transactional communications (order confirmations, shipping updates, payout notices).
- Provide customer support and resolve disputes.
- Improve site performance, security, analytics, and user experience.
- Comply with applicable law, tax, and regulatory requirements.
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access.

Legal basis for processing
We process personal data where necessary to perform our contract with you (orders, accounts, contests), where required by law, where you have given consent (marketing where applicable), and where we have a legitimate interest in operating a secure, functional e-commerce and creator platform.

Data retention
We retain account, order, and transaction records as long as needed for legal, tax, accounting, and royalty obligations. Contest submission assets may be retained for portfolio, archival, and promotional purposes as described in the Contest Rules. When retention is no longer required, we delete or anonymise data where feasible.

Your rights under the DPDP Act
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to, correction of, or erasure of your personal data, withdraw consent where processing is consent-based, and nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity. Contact us at legal@mugfactory.in. We may need to verify your identity. Deletion may be limited where we must retain records for tax, payouts, legal compliance, or dispute resolution.

Data security
We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), access controls, and secure hosting. Payment card data is handled exclusively by Razorpay in compliance with PCI-DSS standards. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Data breach notification
In the event of a personal data breach likely to affect your rights, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected individuals and relevant authorities as required under applicable law.

Children's privacy
Just Mugs is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact legal@mugfactory.in and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International data transfers
Your data is primarily processed in India. Some service providers (e.g. Cloudflare, Supabase) may process data in other jurisdictions with appropriate safeguards as required by applicable law.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted on justmugs.in with an updated date. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes may be communicated via email where appropriate.
